Job summary

Enerflex Ltd. in Tulsa, Oklahoma is seeking a skilled welder to perform fabrication work in line with Welding Procedure Specifications. The position emphasizes safety, quality, cost control, and customer satisfaction as core priorities.

Ideal candidates will be able to pass multiple welding tests (2+ processes), read blueprints, operate cutting equipment, and contribute to team-driven process improvements. Strong work ethic and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of different pipe, structural and vessel materials.
  • Must pass 3G vessel/tower or 6G pipe welding test.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related welding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Welds using MIG, TIG, flux-core or stick as required by procedures.
  • Reads blueprints and uses measuring tools to position pieces.
  • Operates cutting torches and basic cutting equipment.
  • Maintains safety, quality, and cost controls; supports team in process improvements.
  • Promotes and adheres to all safety and project rules.

Job description

This position is responsible for executing fabrication projects in accordance with welding procedures. The successful individual will have the necessary qualifications with a continual focus on safety, quality, cost control and customer satisfaction when performing the duties of the position. You have a strong focus on safety, be a team player and have a strong work ethic.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Uses metal core mig, tig, fluxcore or stick welding process (must pass two or more)
  • Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non-Destructive Exam
  • May weld brackets and braces and use grinders. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials.
  • Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches.
  • Must have some experience reading and understanding blueprints.
  • Must be able to operate basic cutting equipment.
  • Promotes and supports safety, production, and positive attitude. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
  • Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
  • Requires operation of heavy equipment such as welding tools on a constant frequency and forklift on an occasional frequency
  • Able to weld according to Welding Procedure Specification and its parameter requirements.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Preferred Education

  • High School Diploma
  • Welding School

Required Experience & Skills

  • Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials
  • Must pass a 3G test for vessel/tower or 6G test pipe
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience

Preferred Training & Certifications

  • Certification to weld on pipe or plate
Physical Requirements
  • Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time
  • Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time
  • Requires employee to occasionally inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility
  • Requires work on loud environment
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
  • Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
  • Position rarely requires travel
  • Position rarely employee drive
