Job summary

Enerflex Ltd. in the United States is seeking a senior welder to perform routine welding assignments within clearly defined processes. You will read blueprints, fit components, and weld using MIG, TIG, fluxcore, and stick welding with limited supervision.

The role requires passing 3G/6G tests and at least 3 years of related experience. You will contribute to safety, quality, and efficiency while collaborating with a team in an outdoor, heavy equipment environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials.
  • Must pass a 3G test for vessel/tower or 6G test pipe.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Uses metal core mig, tig, fluxcore sub-arc or stick welding process (must pass three or more).
  • May weld brackets and braces and use grinders; read blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges with minimal supervision.
  • Quality x-ray and ultrasound test welds with minimum rework; operate cutting torches and automated equipment.
  • Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude; works with team to improve processes.

Senior level position responsible for completing routine welding assignments within clearly defined processes. Works under moderate supervision.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Uses metal core mig, tig, fluxcore sub-arc or stick welding process (must pass three or more)
  • Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non-Destructive Exam
  • May weld brackets and braces and use grinders. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials
  • Quality x-ray and ultrasound test welds with minimum rework
  • Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches and automated equipment
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges, etc. with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to operates basic cutting equipment
  • Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
  • Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
  • Requires operation of heavy such as welding tools on a constant frequency and forklift on an occasional frequency
Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

Physical Requirements
  • Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time
  • Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time
  • Requires employee to occasionally inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility
  • Requires work on loud environment
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
  • Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
  • Position rarely requires travel
  • Position rarely employee drive
