Job summary

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a Welder II in Illinois to perform manual welding of weldments to defined specifications and production schedules. The role emphasizes reading prints, following quality plans, and maintaining safe, efficient work practices on an onsite schedule.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in metal fabrication, AWS MIG welding certification, and the ability to interpret welding symbols and tolerances.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a metal manufacturing setting preferred.
• Pass AWS certifications for MIG welding steel and aluminum.
• Meet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality work.
• Obtain and maintain weld certifications in two or more welding processes specific to location.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
• Arrange parts for welding and staging processes.
• Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results).
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence.
• Uphold site efficiency standards.
• Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for Safety and Quality standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Lead.
• Assist in other work areas as assigned.
• Understand welding symbols, print tolerances and quality measuring equipment.
• Work completely independently without supervision.
• Trouble shoot and resolve issues in assigned work center.
• Produce quality work at company standard efficiency level for assigned work center.
• Cross trained in multiple workstations.
