Job summary

Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company in Bloomfield, NM is seeking a Welder II for a full-time, single shift. You will perform tack and finish welding of piping systems and small vessels using SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW per CCC procedures.

Under supervision, you will read drawings, back-gouge, clean welds, and ensure compliance with ASME, API, AWS and ANSI codes. Requires 2–3 years welding experience; ASME code experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; welding concentration preferred.
• Associate degree or two-year college/technical school preferred.
• 2-3 years welding experience required.
• ASME code welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Back-gouge using carbon-arc or plasma for full penetration welds.
• Clean and polish welds to design specifications.
• Pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds on pipe and vessels.
• Work from drawings to determine weld size and location.
• Inspect own work for compliance to drawings and weld procedures; perform repairs.
• Assist with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection and documentation.
• Operate fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane.
• Assist in other areas of the plant as assigned.
• Comply with company policy.
