Job summary

BlueScope Buildings in Alabama is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate and repair metal components for our manufacturing team. This night-shift role runs from Sunday night through Friday morning, 9:30pm–6:00am, with some overtime.

You will read blueprints, set up welds, and operate hand tools and jigs to assemble complete units. We emphasize safety, teamwork, and quality, offering training and growth opportunities within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Have a keen eye for detail and take pride in producing quality work.
• Enjoy hands-on roles and working with machinery or are eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and organize: housekeeping and 5-S practices.
