Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) in Minnesota is seeking a welder to set up manual weld machines or download programs per setup sheet, and to verify filler, tooling, and gas flow as instructed.

You will load and locate parts, weld per customer prints, remove spatter, perform quality checks, and keep the work area clean. Education includes a one-year certificate or related experience; lifting up to 50 lbs is required.

• Welds parts per customer provided prints.
• Removes weld spatter and scale from finished parts.
• Performs quality checks per set up sheet.
• Maintains welding equipment and sees that work area is orderly and clean.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
• May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
