Job summary

Spartan Emergency Response (Spartan ER) is seeking a Welder to join the REV team. You will perform MIG and TIG welds, inspect weld quality, and set up welding equipment for aluminum and stainless steel parts.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of manufacturing experience, can read blueprints and tape measures, and work well in a team. This position emphasizes safety procedures and TPM responsibilities in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
  • Must read blueprints and engineering drawings and perform shop math to layout, fabricate and weld parts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding procedures including machine settings, bottles, and necessary fittings.
  • Weld Aluminum and set up/maintain welding machine and perform welds in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
  • Inspect welds for cracks and weld spatter; weld aluminum and stainless steel as required.
  • Grind and clean weld areas; stay current in TPM and basic mechanical adjustments on equipment.
  • Follow hazardous waste disposal and fire prevention procedures.

A day in the life of a Welder at REV:
  • Perform all GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG welding procedures including machine settings, bottles, and necessary fittings
  • Welding Aluminum and set up and maintaining welding machine (tip, liner, changes, etc.) and welding vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
  • Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter.
  • Welding of aluminum and stainless steel where required
  • Grind and clean areas where required
  • Stay current in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed
  • Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures
Required education, skills, and experience to be successful:
  • Preferred 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferred high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements
  • Must read blueprints, and engineering drawings and perform shop math to layout, fabricate and weld various parts and assemblies
  • Must process knowledge and experience in GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG welding machine
  • Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Successful completion of the drug and background screening
