Job summary

Xpress Boats in Hot Springs, AR is seeking a skilled welder to assemble prefabricated aluminum parts using MIG or TIG welding, following work orders and factory specifications to ensure safety, durability, and high quality boats.

You will read a tape measure, set up and operate MIG/TIG welders, maintain PPE, and help meet cycle times while keeping the work area clean and orderly, and you will follow safety policies.

AIM or MISSION

The mission of this position is to assemble prefabricated parts into a high quality aluminum boat according to factory specifications and work orders assuring safety, durability and overall customer satisfaction.

Description of Duties / Expectations

• Live and Promote Company Values
• Read a tape measure
• Change wire properly
• Fix backlash/bird nest of wire in machine
• Assess gun functions
• Knowledge of proper temperature settings
• Know how and when to change tips
• Identify excessive need for tip replacement
• Understand flow meter / regulator / orifice
• Follow proper start up and shut down procedures
• Do not unplug machines without lead/supervisor approval
• Maintain consistency score (live arc) and evolve to parameters
• Understand spacing, buildup, penetration
• Meet cycle times with acceptable quality on beginning MIG positions
• Adhere to PPE policy per department standards
• Weld prefabricated aluminum parts according to work orders using MIG or TIG welder
• Utilize tools and measuring instruments to position and align parts to assemble a good quality boat
