Job summary

FAST Global Solutions Inc. is seeking a Welder for our Weekend Shift in Glenwood, MN. The role reads blueprints, welds in multiple positions, and ensures quality welds in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software; Dynamics AX/D365 preferred.
• Stand for a 10-hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Vision with depth perception required.
• Work in varying temperatures and humidity.
• Personal protective equipment provided and must be worn.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as specified.
• Guides electrode or gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
• Examines weld for bead size and specifications.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
• Positions and clamps workpieces or assembles them in jig/fixtures.
• Selects torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux per welding chart specs.
• Tacks assemblies together.
• Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
• Cleans or de-greases parts.
• Move parts in and move finished product out of welding area.

FAST Global Solutions is seeking a Welder for our Weekend Shift in Glenwood, MN. Sign-On Bonus of $2,500!

Our Weekend Shift runs from 6:00 am – 6:30 pm, Fri day through Sunday, with overtime as needed.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
• Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by engineer.
• Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
• Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures.
• Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material.
• Tacks assemblies together.
• Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
• Cleans or de-greases parts.
• Move parts in and moves finished product out of welding area.

Job Requirements:

• A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or at least 1-3 months related experience.
• Must have basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics D365 is preferred.
• Must be able to stand continuously for a 10 hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Vision with depth perception is required.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and levels of humidity.
• Personal protective equipment will be provided by FAST and must be worn in the required areas.
