Job summary

FuelCell Energy is seeking a hands-on Welder to join our manufacturing team in Torrington, CT. The ideal candidate will interpret designs, monitor machinery, and weld components in 1G–6G positions using MIG and TIG processes for carbon steel and stainless.

We value attention to detail, safety, and reliability, with opportunities to work across a range of assemblies and project tasks in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Welding experience is required.
• Ability to use electronically controlled equipment and hand tools.
• Experience with tooling and assembly utilizing heavy equipment.
• Experience with quality measuring tools, e.g., calipers, micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Performs hands-on welding tasks meeting quantity and quality standards.
• Welds in flat, vertical, or overhead positions; inspects for defects.
• Selects and uses torches, filler rods, and flux per specifications.
• Sets up equipment and maintains tolerances per blueprints.
• Monitors welding and fitting processes to prevent overheating or distortion.
• Maintains safe work practices and uses PPE as required.
