Job summary

Salford Group, a Linamar Company, is seeking a Welder I to perform basic welding tasks and contribute to fabrication. You will read blueprints, set up welding equipment, and work under supervision to produce precise welds and assemble metal components.

The role requires the ability to pass an internal weld test, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate forklift and crane with training. Good communication and time management are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass internal weld test.
  • Weld components per Salford Group standards ensuring tolerances.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with assistance.
  • 5S/Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
  • Independently weld multiple parts accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Execute high-quality welds with proficiency and training.
  • Set up basic welding equipment per material properties and requirements.
  • Locate current drawings and specifications as needed for reference.
  • Operate preprogrammed welding robot.
  • Adhere to SOPs and safety regulations.
  • Maintain precision and quality at a steady pace.
