Job summary

Ferrara Fire Apparatus is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate components for large, custom fire apparatus. You will work from shop orders, prints, and instructions to set up and weld joints with precision, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires reading assembly prints, applying lean methods, and using welding equipment to meet strict specifications. Teamwork and adherence to procedures are essential for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Basic welding knowledge that includes GMAW processes.
• Must be knowledgeable in Lean Methodologies.
• Must be able to read and understand basic assembly prints and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Set parts in assembly fixture, position, layout and clamp in place in specified orientation to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Select welding parameters per specified weld procedures and weld joints ensuring size, continuity, fill, distortion and cosmetic requirements.
• Review material and product requirements; ensure parts are cut and prepared as prescribed.
• Move work to succeeding area to maintain workflow and notify supervisor of issues.
• Support safety and training initiatives and ensure work meets quality standards.
