Job summary

Komatsu in Shawano, Wisconsin is seeking a Welder I to join our production team. You will weld metal parts on subassembly and production lines and read drawings to guide weld sequencing.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of welding experience; certification is preferred. This is an onsite, full-time role with competitive benefits.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Welds metal parts together on subassembly and production lines using the metal core GMAW (gas, metal arc welding)
• Interprets and reads drawings to ensure proper weld sequencing and weld sizing to complete work.
• Inspects work and related work of others and reports any defects or discrepancies to supervision immediately.
• Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Operates overhead cranes, Jib cranes, or forklifts safely in order to move and set large parts to machine or fixture.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one one year welding experience required. Welding certification preferred.
• Must be able to use a variety of hand tools, power tools etc.
• Some standing, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift a maximum of forty pounds.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company.
• Incumbent may be required to work overtime as required to meet schedules.
• Must comply with all environmental, quality, and safety rules, practices, and standards.
