Job summary

Komatsu in Billings, MT is seeking a mechanic who will work under a Leadperson or Supervisor in shop or field settings to inspect, repair and rebuild mining equipment.

You will perform safe repairs, read engineering prints, use precision tools, and coordinate with QA/QC to implement best practices while training in safety tasks.

Qualifications

• AssociatesDegree or Trade School Sertificateand minimum 1-3years job specific mechanical rebuild experience.
• Application of advanced trades mathmatics.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications,charts, tables, and handbook formulas.
• Proficient use of precision measuring instruments: mag particle tester, micrometer, laser aligner, caliper and bore gauges with no supervision.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairs on hydraulic and electrical components.
• Competent with welding/cutting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the customer and meet billable hours targets.

Job Overview

The mechanic will work directly under the supervision of a Leadperson and / or Supervisor in a shop or field environment.

• Moderate physical demand, continuous lifting or moving light weight to moderate weight materials and working in difficult work positions.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical job requirements.
• Consistently promotes the Komatsu's safety culture which includes but is not limited to:
  • Understands and complies with all established Cardinal Rules. Working safely, promoting the safety of coworkers.
  • Constantly looking for ways to improve and maintain a safe working environment by completing FLRA's, Near Miss Cards and Safety Observations.
