Job summary

Magnaflow is seeking an experienced Welder operator to join our Oceanside, CA fabrication team. You will perform spin welding, TIG welding, valve assembly welding, and operate robotic welding systems with focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities include program robot welders, monitor weld quality, support continuous improvement, and follow Lean principles. Must have 5+ years welding stainless steel, MIG experience, and read complex drawings; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require a welding certification or degree.
  • 5+ years preferred welding stainless-steel products; familiar with MIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex work instructions and drawings.
  • Robot operation or programming experience preferred for advanced robot roles.
  • Bilingual training available in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Perform spin welding operations using hand welder equipment per checklist.
  • Execute TIG welding (GTAW) on precision or specialized components.
  • Perform valve assembly welding per sequence and coating preparation work instructions.
  • Operate robotic welding systems, monitor weld quality, and perform adjustments.
  • Program robotic welder parameters and load weld programs.
  • Perform heat exchanger welding per handling and safety procedures.
  • Complete all WI responsibilities as applicable.
  • Support continuous improvement and knowledge transfer to WI team members.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Salary Range

$22-$27 USD /hour

  • Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
What You Will Be Doing

Advanced welding classification with expanded responsibilities including specialized processes, robotic systems, and complex assemblies. Welder operators are expected to work with greater independence and may support training of personnel.

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require a technical welding certification or degree).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or welding environment is typically required, though on-the-job training may be provided.
  • Minimum of 5 years is preferred in welding stainless-steel products and is familiar with the MIG welding process
  • Ability to read and interpret complex work instructions and assembly drawings
  • Robot operation or programming experience preferred for advanced robot roles
  • Bilingual training available in English and Spanish
What You Need
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate counts of parts produced daily.
  • Maintain a functional work area that is consistent with Five “S” and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Inspect parts produced to the company’s quality standards, and fitment to the fixture.
  • Close and general vision.
  • Good hand eye coordination.
  • Prolonged standing of up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Requires the lifting of 50 lbs. Any lifting over 50 lbs. is to be lifted with the assistance of other individuals.
  • Requires reaching above and below the shoulders.
  • Welding helmet.
  • PPE (Steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, earplugs, etc.)
  • PPE is mandatory for Spin Welding, TIG Welding, Valve Assembly, Robot Operation, and Heat Exchanger Welding
  • Robot Programming does not require PPE but requires adherence to safety zones and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Demonstrated proficiency in welding setup parameters and quality inspection
