Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of welding experience in the Oil & Gas industry required.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for education.
- Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
What you'll do:
- Model and promote good safety practices. Ensure safety is never compromised.
- Keep welding tools and supplies stocked, clean, and organized.
- Set up equipment, tools, and materials needed to complete daily work assignments.
- Clean up work area and tools following completion of work.
- Cut material for fabrication using hand torches and pipe beveling equipment.
- Use grinders to clean pipe ends to be welded and to clean welds throughout the welding process. Demonstrate workmanship and maintain grind within weld groove.
- Assist in the fitting of pipe joints using pipe clamps, squares, tape measures, and levels to assure proper pipe assembly.
- Properly ventilate the work area.
- Perform other duties including preparing the worksite and reducing or eliminating obstructions.
To be successful you will need to be:
- Knowledgeable in pipe welding skills and processes.
- Skilled at using welding equipment for cutting, hand tools, and power tools.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees.
- Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday with Saturdays as required.
- Indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather. Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, mists, odors, and vibrations. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Exert more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be able to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; climb, kneel, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push, and other similar tasks requiring physical activity.
