SI Utility in Midland, Texas seeks a dependable Welder Helper to support our welding and fabrication operations. This role assists welders with material preparation, equipment, and general fabrication tasks while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications include prior welding, fabrication, or industrial experience and basic knowledge of tools. You will be part of a team focused on quality and safety in a physically demanding fabrication setting.

Qualifications

• Previous welding, fabrication, or industrial experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Assist welders and lead welders with daily welding and fabrication activities.
• Prepare, position, and handle materials for welding.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, welding-related equipment, and cutting equipment as trained.
• Assist with measuring and inspecting workpieces to ensure they meet specifications.
• Read and follow basic prints, measurements, and work instructions as required.
• Assist with cutting or dismantling metal using torches, plasma-cutting equipment, or other approved tools when trained.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, incidents promptly to a supervisor.
• Complete all required company and safety training.
• Work from ladders or scaffolding when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or lead welder.
