Job summary

Jim Myers & Sons, Inc in North Carolina is seeking a Welder/Fitter I to join the Operations Team. You will contribute to safety, produce high-quality fit-welds, and support continuous improvement while working with a small, family-oriented group.

Responsibilities include fitting parts, reading blueprints, performing TIG welds on 316 and 304 stainless steel, selecting equipment, and using basic hand tools. JMS offers training and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Read tape measure and perform basic fabrication calculations.
• Familiarity with blueprints, fixturing, and TIG welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Fit small parts like chutes, brackets, troughs, plate pack parts, scum pipes, guards, and conveyors.
• Use blueprints, tooling, fixturing, and JMS equipment to achieve proper dimensional arrangements.
• Perform TIG welds on varying thicknesses of 316 and 304 stainless steel.

Job Summary

The Welder/Fitter I position is a vital member of the Operations Team contributing to our safety culture, providing high productivity, accurate fit-welds, high quality finish welds, flexibility in assignments, and supporting continuous improvement in the following capacities:

• Fit small parts like chutes, brackets, troughs, plate pack parts, scum pipes, some floc parts, guards, some belt conveyor parts, some slide gate parts, supports
• Using blueprints, tooling, fixturing, fit-weld JMS equipment to proper dimensional arrangements
• Perform Tig welds on a variety of thicknesses, sizes, and orientations of equipment (mainly 316 and 304 SS)
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Use basic hand tools such as tape measure, level, square, etc.

Required Qualifications

Desired Experience and Skills

• Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, welding, etc…
• Read tape measure
• Perform mathematical calculations required for fabrication
• Understand and comfortable adding and subtracting fractions and decimals
• Basic tool and shop knowledge

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
