Atlantic Track & Turnout Co. in Memphis, Tennessee is hiring a Welder / Fitter I to join our day shift. You will read work instructions, interpret blueprints, and assemble parts with MIG and Stick welding, using flux core wire.

The role involves operating cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts, lifting up to 50 lbs, and collaborating with the team to ensure safety and quality. A high school diploma and AWS weld certification are required or obtainable, with on-site work in Memphis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain AWS Weld Certification.
• Minimum of 1 year welding experience (industrial or academic).
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• On-site work in Memphis, Tennessee.

Responsabilités

• Reads and interprets work instructions, blueprints, and reference documents.
• Critically examines how various mechanical and/or structural parts fit together.
• Operates cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to assist with moving material.
• Assembles material as needed, grinding rail fits on castings, driving spikes with an impact hammer, hammering clips with a sledgehammer, using an arc gouger.
• May be required to pull parts and/or material from stock.
• Performs MIG and Stick welding, usually 3/8 bead using flux core wire.
• Assists other employees, works collaboratively to accomplish goals.
• Alerts/advises supervisors or engineers when issues arise.
• Maintains a safety and quality focused mindset.
• Makes suggestions and improves processes or quality of assembly projects at hand.
