A leading company in battery manufacturing is seeking a skilled welder to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating components for tanks and machinery frames, requiring a Class 5 certification and expertise in various welding methods. Summary: The primary function of this position is to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assembly structures such as machinery frames, tanks, and parts according to prints and knowledge of welding metallurgy. The role involves selecting equipment, planning layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, metal shrinkage, and welding techniques. The position may require operating equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, high lifts, and crane trucks.
Welding and fabrication of 316L SS tanks. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Education and Experience: Class 5 welding certification with at least five years of experience in welding and fabrication. Experience in tank building is a plus. Skills in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding are preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective speaking skills for presentation to groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to understand and apply principles of advanced algebra and trigonometry. Capable of working with engineering equations and concepts such as limits.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
Physical Demands: Must frequently stand, walk, handle, reach, climb, and stoop. Occasionally talk, hear, and lift objects using proper techniques. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Work may involve working above ground level with ladders, scaffolding, etc.
Work Environment: Exposure to moving parts, fumes, extreme heat, electrical hazards, vibration, and outdoor conditions. Noise levels are usually loud. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
