Job Description

Job Purpose: Fabricates components by analyzing requirements; welding parts.

***MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH ROLL WELDING***

Key Responsibilities:

1. Blueprint Reading: Interpret and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
2. Material Preparation: Measure, cut, and prepare metal plates and rolled sections according to specifications.
3. Plating and Welding: Perform skilled plating and welding tasks using various techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick welding) in different positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
4. Fabrication: Assemble and fabricate metal structures and components, ensuring accuracy and quality.
5. Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
6. Maintenance: Maintain and clean welding and fabrication equipment and tools.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and regulations, including the use of protective clothing and equipment.
8. Collaboration: Work effectively with team members, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient operations and project completion.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a welder and fabricator, particularly with rolled sections.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using welding and fabrication equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and hazardous materials may occur.

Duties:

* Develops welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining appropriate welding techniques.

* Collects equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements, ordering supplies and gases.

* Fabricates components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate method.

* Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds.

* Documents actions by completing records.

* Maintains safe work environment by following procedures, complying with legal regulations.

* Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

* Accomplishes manufacturing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

* Sub arc and shrinking experience required.
