Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our Ringgold, VA facility. This position involves fabricating and assembling metal components, reading blueprints, and using AutoCAD to translate design layouts into shop-ready plans.

The role requires experience with TIG, ARC, and MIG welding in multiple positions, plus precise measurement and quality checks. The successful candidate will operate shop equipment, observe safety policies, and contribute to a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding of various metals including stainless steel and galvanized steel.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work orders and plan layouts accordingly.
• Proficient with measuring tools and machine shop equipment; able to select appropriate welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble metal components per blueprints and specifications.
• Operate welding equipment including TIG, ARC, and MIG across multiple positions.
• Inspect parts, measure tolerances, and ensure conformance to drawings; maintain tools and safety standards.

Job Details: This Tyson facility is not accepting rehires at this time Job Posting: 1st Shift Full Time Ringgold, VA Pay Level - $33.05

Essential Duties

Capable of fabricating/erecting assigned tasks using various types of metals; stainless steel galvanized black iron. Ranging from angle iron channel iron round flat stock etc. Capable of performing the 3 major types of welding TIG welding ARC welding MIG welding. Must be able to safely operate hand power tools shop equipment to include metal shear, metal brake, drill press, metal lathe, plasma cutter, oxy acetylene torch sanders, etc. Able to weld in multiple positions – flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead. Must be capable of reading blueprints specifications sketches, work orders, plan layout assembly and welding operations. Perform close tolerance to meet layout print specifications using calipers micrometers etc. as needed. Set up and operate welding fabricating equipment to perform jobs, blueprints, sketches or verbal orders. Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications. Perform machining with lathe broaching tools, drilling, tapping and other machining functions. Must be proficient in AutoCAD or other design software. Maintain tools equipment in a safe clean and orderly manner including shop tools welding cutting gauges and welding equipment. Follow company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Welder/Fabricator Maintenance applicants must possess:

• Industrial Technology degree or a degree in a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Ability to weld pipe, read schematics / blueprints, communicate effectively both written and verbally, sound judgement in project implementation.
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Basic computer skills.

Pay Range/Rate

Pay Range/Rate: $33.05
