Job summary

East & Westbrook Construction is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our growing fabrication team. If you take pride in producing quality work, reading drawings, fitting steel, and laying down clean welds, we'd like to talk with you.

You will read blueprints, lay out and weld structural steel and miscellaneous metal components, and perform MIG, FCAW, or Stick welding as required. Join a team that values safety, reliability, and craftsmanship on a variety of fabrication projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Experience with structural steel fabrication and miscellaneous metals.
• Proficiency in MIG, FCAW, and/or Stick welding processes.
• Strong layout, fitting, and measuring skills.

What You\'ll Do

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication details.
• Lay out, fit, fabricate, and weld structural steel and miscellaneous metal components.
• Perform MIG, FCAW (flux-core), and Stick welding as required.
• Measure, mark, cut, bevel, drill, and prepare materials for fabrication.
• Assemble and weld stairs, railings, platforms, structural members, and custom fabricated components.
• Operate fabrication equipment including saws, ironworkers, drills, grinders, and other shop tools.
• Perform fit-up work to ensure proper dimensions, alignment, and weld quality.
• Inspect completed work to verify accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Work with shop leaders and team members to safely meet production schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.

What We\'re Looking For

• 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Experience with structural steel fabrication and miscellaneous metals.
• Proficiency in MIG, FCAW, and/or Stick welding processes.
• Strong layout, fitting, and measuring skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Commitment to producing quality work safely.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS welding certifications.
• Structural steel welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience fabricating stairs, handrails, platforms, and custom steel assemblies.
• Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
• Ability to pass a practical weld test.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work on your feet throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
