Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our US-based production team. The role involves welding, fabricating and repairing components essential to manufacturing processes, with emphasis on cylindrical and pipe assemblies.

Candidates should have flux-core welding experience, be able to pass 3G qualifications, and work under general supervision. Training, medical benefits and other standard offerings are provided.

Qualifications

• Must pass 3G with back gouge and back weld using FCAW
• Ability to weld within specified criteria; comply with ASME/UW-51
• Maintain 92% acceptance rate per ASME UW-51 100% RT X-ray
• Experience with flux-core welding and related tools
• Familiarity with cutting torch and grinders

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and procedures
• Inspect and repair spirally welded cylinders per specs
• Utilize cutting torch to square cylinder ends and repair as needed
• Install, maintain, repair and test mechanical, electrical equipment
• Perform welding, sheet metal and structural work
• Perform shaft and gear alignment; rigging tasks
• Maintain welding tools and organize workstation
• Work under supervision and report to crew leader
