Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled pipe welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components into structural forms.

The role requires TIG and stick welding on stainless and carbon materials, blueprint reading, and strict adherence to safety protocols. You will weld in various positions, inspect weld quality, and operate multiple welding processes while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to weld with TIG and stick on stainless and/or carbon.
• Ability to read and interpret weld procedures, drawings or blueprints.
• Must pass required weld tests and be willing to work outdoors.
• Must wear safety gear and follow site safety rules.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements for layouts and fits.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.
• Weld components using electric arc-welding equipment as specified by procedures.
• Inspect welds for bead size and conformance to specifications.
• Operate multiple welding processes as required (GMAW/FCAW/SAW depending on site).
• Prepare broken parts for welding and repair damaged components as needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and perform duties in a safe, timely manner.
