Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group – Pressure in Palatka, FL is hiring a Welder on 1st Shift to inspect, finish, and repair welded steel cylinders used in large-diameter pressure pipe applications. You will perform weld repairs, back gouging, grinding, and inspect welds to ensure quality.

Qualified applicants will complete an on-site weld test. Overtime may be available based on production needs; benefit eligibility applies. TP G Pressure is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• FCAW welding experience
• Ability to pass a 3G FCAW weld test with back gouge and back weld
• Ability to produce welds that meet required quality and inspection standards
• Ability to consistently maintain acceptable weld quality
• SMAW experience preferred
• SAW experience is a plus
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, measurements, and specifications
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment

Pay

$25/hour to start

The Work

As a Welder with Thompson Pipe Group, you will inspect, finish, and repair welded steel cylinders used in large-diameter pressure pipe applications, including water transmission, sewer, and penstock systems.

Responsibilities may include:

• Performing weld repairs to applicable specifications
• Back gouging and back welding
• Grinding and finishing welded surfaces
• Inspecting welds and identifying defects
• Measuring and documenting repairs accurately
• Following all safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintaining quality and production standards

What You Need

• FCAW welding experience

This is a hands-on manufacturing position in an industrial environment. The work area may be loud, dusty, and not air-conditioned.

Employees must be able to:

• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Climb ladders and perform elevated work
• Stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
• Work safely around welding equipment, machinery, and other industrial equipment

The Weld Test

Qualified applicants will be required to complete an on-site weld test as part of the hiring process.
