Job summary

Springs Fabrication LLC in Colorado Springs is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our shop team. You will check parts against prints and material lists, weld per work orders, blueprints and welding procedures, and maintain your tools and a clean, safe workspace.

The ideal candidate has a HS Diploma or GED (degree in welding preferred) and can read engineering drawings, perform basic math, and apply problem-solving skills to welding and fabrication tasks in a fast-paced environment.

SUMMARY:A position defined by a tiered matrix of welding capabilities and fabrication capabilities (see Attachment 1 – Welder/Fabrication Responsibility Matrix).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Understands fully Springs Fabrication’s Policy Statement, commitment to ISO and SafetyMaintains own tools per Employee Manual and maintains a clean and safe work area (See Attachment 2 – Tool Requirements List)Check all parts to print and material lists prior to welding.Weld in accordance with lead/supervisor directions, work orders, component blueprints and welding procedures.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed, in addition to all those listed for a Welder’s Helper. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION:HS Diploma, GED or equivalent. Degree in welding preferred.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Certificates from a technical program are strongly desired.SKILLS and ABILITIES:See attachment A for matrixed requirements for skills based on welder/fabricator position.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and Engineering drawings.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division. Ability to calculate area, circumference and general algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
