Springs Fabrication in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a skilled welder to weld and fabricate a range of engineered metal products, including structural, piping, and vessel work, ensuring precision and quality.

The role requires ability to produce X-ray quality welds, read blueprints and weld symbols, pass shop math and weld symbols tests, and hold 2G/3G FCAW & GMAW certifications (6G FCAW/GMAW; GTAW preferred). Must be US citizen; HS diploma and welding training preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience producing X-ray quality welds and reading weld symbols.
  • Ability to fit complex weldments with attention to tolerances and heat effects.
  • Proficiency with carbon steel, stainless steel and nickel alloys.

Salary Range: $22.00 - $35.00 Hourly

SUMMARY

Responsible for welding and fabricating a diverse range of engineered metal products. This role involves working on structural components, piping, and vessel work, ensuring high-quality standards and precision in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks on various engineered metal products, including structural, piping, and vessel work.
  • Demonstrate the ability to produce X-Ray quality welds and fit complex weldments with attention to tolerance, shrinkage, and heat-induced warpage.
  • Work with a variety of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Interpret and work from complex drawings, including understanding and applying weld symbols accurately.
  • Maintain and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to company safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge in welding and fabrication techniques and processes.
Qualifications

Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship is preferred.
Required Experience
  • Experience demonstrating X-Ray quality welds.
  • Capable of fitting up complex weldments with consideration for tolerance, shrinkage, and heat-induced warpage.
  • Experience with various metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys.
  • Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols and shop drawings.
  • Capable of passing written Shop Math and Weld symbols test.
  • Capable of 2G & 3G certification in FCAW & GMAW processes.
  • Capable of 6G certification in FCAW & GMAW processes.
Preferred Experience
  • Capable of 6G certification in GTAW process.
  • Experience with pressure vessel welding and fabrication.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and Engineering drawings.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division. Ability to calculate area, circumference and general algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
