Job description

We are looking for a skilled welder/fabricator toperform welding and fabricating work to create conveyor framework and structure at our manufacturing facility.
The welder/fabricator will operate welding tools and fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, hand torches, and punches.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operates production shop machinery and equipment.
• Reads job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Positions work piece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
• Pushes button or depresses the pedal to activate the machine.
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measures workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation.
• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from the workpiece
• Performs welding to create conveyor framework and structure.
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
• Sets up and performs maintenance on production shop machines and performs burning work.

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading blueprints
• Experience working in a fabrication shop is preferred but not required
