Cleaver-Brooks in Thomasville, GA is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator for first-shift work. You will read blueprints, lay out and weld structural metal components, and perform precise fabrication following specifications.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, lay out, position, align, and fit structural metal components according to blueprints and specs.
• Safely operate cutting torches and perform carbon arc gouging as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and process sheets to ensure correct fabrication.
• Use measuring devices to ensure proper fit and accuracy in assemblies.
• Perform welding and fabrication using established techniques and quality standards.
• Complete required ASME welding certification tests within the established timeframe.
• Follow all plant safety rules and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• All other duties as assigned.

We’re looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and brings strong welding and fabrication skills to the job. The ideal candidate can confidently read and work from blueprints, take accurate measurements, and use the tools and equipment required for structural metal fabrication.

You should be safety-focused, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to producing high-quality work. Candidates must also have the skills and experience necessary to successfully complete required ASME welding certification tests within the established timeframe.

Location: Thomasville, GA

Shift/Schedule: 1st Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm), plus overtime

Basic Function: Perform skilled welding and fabrication work to build and assemble structural metal components according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.

Essential Duties:

• Fabricate, lay out, position, align, and fit structural metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Safely and proficiently operate cutting torches and perform carbon arc gouging.
• Read, interpret, and work accurately from blueprints, drawings, and process sheets.
• Use tape measures, levels, and other measuring devices to ensure proper fit, alignment, and accuracy.
• Perform welding and fabrication work using established techniques and quality standards.
• Successfully complete required ASME welding certification tests within the established timeframe.
• Follow all plant safety rules, procedures, and regulations while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience Required:

• Technical training from an accredited school or six (6) months of related welding experience.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. chest high on a regular basis. Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on hard cement surface and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat and climb ladders up to 8 feet high. Will require working in areas up to 15 feet from the ground. Must be able to climb stairs and work in temperature ranges corresponding with the outside ambient temperatures. Must be able to access all areas of the plant both inside and outside. Will be exposed to noise, dust, and dirt, welding fumes and machine lubricants and/or oils. Must be able and willing to work with and properly use all necessary and/or required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes and fall protection.
