DESCRIPTION: At TOG, the Welder Fabricator plays a crucial role by using specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms and employing various repair techniques to restore and maintain essential equipment in our manufacturing facility. This position requires a focus on ensuring the quality of the finished product while actively coordinating with all workforce members to stay updated on any changes or updates in production operations. Additionally, the Welder Fabricator must adhere to the company’s policies and safety standards to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Perform welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding to assemble and repair metal components. This involves reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Conduct visual inspections of welds and finished products to ensure they meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Implement quality control procedures to identify and correct any defects.
- Regularly inspect and maintain welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in proper working condition. This includes troubleshooting and performing minor repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate production activities and ensure smooth workflow. This may involve attending team meetings and providing updates on project progress.
- Safely handle and transport materials and components within the facility. This includes using various tools and equipment to cut, bend, and shape metal pieces as required.
- Follow all Safety guidelines, protocols, and policies while maintaining a clean, organized working area.
CORE COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in metalworking, welding, and metal fabrication techniques; certification is preferred.
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficient experience with hand and measurement tools (Caliper, Micrometer)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Successful track record in adapting to changing circumstances.
- Must be able to perform all physical duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Shift: Monday to Friday,5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Location:Taylor, MI– onsite, in a fast-paced plant environment
