Steel Fabricator/Welder

Position Summary

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings with over 70 years of servicing the oil and gas industry. We are seeking an experienced cylinder welder to join our team.

Responsibilities

1. Weld manufactured cylinder pipe using SMAW, FCAW, and SAW processes.
2. Follow engineering specifications and manufacturing standard operating procedures.
3. Perform visual and in-process weld inspections according to API and ISO quality standards.
4. Assist the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving welding issues to improve throughput.
5. Pass periodic welding tests and qualifications as per procedures.
6. Perform load rigging, torch cutting, and grinding as needed.
7. Use measuring tools to verify the accuracy of welded products.
8. Notify the Plant Supervisor of non-conforming parts.
9. Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
10. Perform other duties as assigned in the plant.

Knowledge, Experience, and Requirements

1. Minimum of 2 years welding experience.
2. Experience in completing weld certification tests.
3. Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and scales.
4. Attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

1. Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing, and other active movements.
2. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
3. Perform duties while wearing PPE.
4. Work in environments that may include hot temperatures and dust.
