Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Description:

This is a Welder/Fabricator position with primary responsibilities including:

• Building new equipment
• Repairing downed equipment
• Machining parts for welding
• Fabricating sheet metal
• Welding and brazing
• Making tooling and fixtures
• Drilling and tapping various metals
• Fabricating and modifying parts for internal use
• Assisting engineering with equipment modifications for research and development

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of general metal fabrication experience
• Ability to weld TIG & MIG steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Sheet metal fabrication experience, including using a brake and shear
• Ability to solder (hard and soft) with an Oxy-Acetylene torch
• Proficiency with shop equipment including manual mills and lathes
• Ability to assemble intricate machinery from schematics and drawings
• Strong ability to work independently, follow instructions, and attention to detail
• Assist engineers in improving production machines
• Computer literate with knowledge of Windows OS
• Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols
• Experience with CAD software and CNC is a plus
• Safety conscious, able to work safely with complex machines
• Efficient, organized, and quality-focused worker
• Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in teams
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Job Posting Pay Range:

$24 to $44 per hour. Exceptional qualifications, experience, and location may impact salary. VIAVI offers a competitive benefits package including paid time off, health, life, and disability insurance, 401(k), and a bonus program.
