A machining and fabrication shop in Missouri is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator/Laborer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various metals and welding techniques while contributing to custom metal fabrication projects. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a focus on quality and safety.
Machining and Fabrication shop needs a Full-time experienced Welder/Fabricator/Laborer (3 years exp. REQ) with all types of metal knowledge (steel, stainless steel and aluminum) to become an integral part of our team! Preferable candidates will have Industrial Maintenance as well as vast welding experience to use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms.
We are a job-shop that specializes in custom metal fabrication. Some of the additional services we offer include but are not limited to welding, fabricating, drawing, cutting, industrial maintenance, along with a full machine shop.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have previous experience fabricating metal products, attention to detail, strong hand / eye coordination and the ability to work independently or as a team. The successful applicant will be responsible for MIG/TIG/STICK welding on steel, stainless, and aluminum, setting up and operating various fabrication machines, maintaining equipment, finishing products, assembly, packaging and reporting any issues with equipment directly to maintenance supervisors. Qualified applicants will have strong math and measurement, minimum 3-years' TIG / MIG, Stick welding, experience with blueprints or drawings and a strong work ethic.
Duties And Responsibilities
Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders to plan and set up components for welding operations
Align components using fixtures, tape measure, etc. and clamp pieces
Fabricates various structural equipment from blueprints and work orders.
Sets up and adjusts welding equipment accordingly. Works with complicated engineering drawings.
Installation and repair of various equipment and components in shop or on-jobsite.
Must be able to Layout, Fabricate, Shear, Saw, and form to meet product specifications
Job duties include stick, mig, and tig welding, bending, shearing, and forming a variety of metals from galvanized, steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance
Must be willing to offer solutions and ideas to Supervisors, Engineers, and Peers.
Maintain equipment and a safe/clean working environment
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in awkward positions while bending, stooping, kneeling or standing
Qualifications
Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
Must pass assembly and weld test
3+years experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields
Have helmet, gloves, and assorted tools to complete work assigned.
Experience with all welding machinery, manual tooling, brake press and shear.
Ability to read and follow and fabricate parts from blueprints with attention to detail
Good math skills
Willingness to travel up to 25% of time when needed
Be able to work overtime, including Saturdays when needed
Machining (manual), painting, millwright and Installation Experience Helpful
A good work ethic and outstanding attendance is a must.
Experience
2 Year fabrication a must
3 Years welding Mig, Tig and Stick a must
1 Year machining preferred
Experience with all welding machinery, manual tooling, brake press and shear
Work Hours
Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm
