C.A. Hull is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to report to our shop, located in Commerce Township, MI.

General Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Weld/fabricate metal components/structures using relevant techniques (MIG, TIG, and Stick welding) with a focus on quality
  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop and design drawings to fabricate metal
  • Position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
  • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
  • Inspect all work for defects, dimensions, alignment, and end preparations; report discrepancies to management to sustain quality assurance standards and requirements
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools, including drills, lathes, mills, plasma cutters, bandsaws and grinders
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete project requirements on time
  • Follow all relevant safety requirements and regulations
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • AWS Certification preferred
  • Previous experience working in a shop, manufacturing, or fabrication environment a plus
  • Frequently required to stand, use hands to hold hand and power tools, finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. Work also requires the ability to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs
