Job description

• Paint and Final Assembly Systems: Paint shops and final assembly systems for the automotive industry.

Pay and PTO: Compensation is based on experience, up to $29.01 per hour. Up to 4 weeks of Paid Time Off are available depending on experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Operate safely all basic equipment in the fabrication department such as hand brake, shear, saw, drill press, hand plasma, grinders, cutting wheels, etc.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on welding equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Handle materials in process and finished goods, including operation of pallet jacks, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Understand and follow established standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety and PPE requirements per company policy.
• Perform welding tasks (steel, stainless steel) after passing welding tests.
• Understand NDT techniques such as dye checking welds.
• Suggest ideas for operational improvements to reduce costs, enhance quality, and increase throughput.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time.
• Lead by example.

Education and Experience:

• Blueprint reading skills.
• Ability to apply basic math skills using decimals and fractions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and use imperial and metric tape measures.
• Prior welding experience in a fabrication shop preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Technical welding degree preferred.
