Job summary

Fisher Industries in Dickinson, ND, seeks a Fabrication Welder – Stainless Steel to join our safety-sensitive team. You will weld stainless steel using GMAW and GTAW, read blueprints, measure and prepare materials, and assemble components for new equipment.

This hourly position reports to the Area Shop Foreman. We value attention to detail, teamwork, and problem solving as you help meet production deadlines while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• 1+ years welding/shop experience.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform stainless steel welding using GMAW and GTAW processes.
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols to fabricate components.
• Measure, cut and prepare materials (bend, cut, drill, tap, etc).
• Assemble mechanical components and fabricated parts to meet design specs.
• Perform proper fit-up alignment and tacking prior to final welding.
• Conduct leak tests on pressure equipment, tanks or vessels.
• Operate equipment safely including cranes and forklifts.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fabrication Welder – Stainless Steel will be responsible for joining metal using a variety of techniques, often to form new structures. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical plans created by other construction professionals. The Fabrication Welder is a safety sensitive position that works primarily on new equipment assembly.

This is an hourly position that reports directly to the Area Shop Foreman.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Perform stainless steel welding using GMAW and GTAW processes
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols to fabricate components accurately
• Measure, cut and prepare materials (bend, cut, drill, tap, etc)
• Assemble mechanical components and fabricated parts to meet design specifications
• Perform proper fit-up alignment, and tacking prior to final welding
• Conduct leak test on pressure equipment, tanks or vessels
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently including overhead cranes and forklifts
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines
• Wearing safety clothing and using protective equipment
