Job summary

Fisher Industries is seeking a Fabrication Welder - Stainless Steel to join our team in Dickinson, ND. The role focuses on welding stainless steel components, interpreting blueprints, and assembling parts to spec for new equipment.

You will perform GMAW and GTAW welding, read weld symbols, and ensure precise fit-up and alignment while maintaining safety and quality. A sign-on bonus is offered and employment is drug-free with pre-employment testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years welding/shop experience.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Attention to detail and good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Perform stainless steel welding using GMAW and GTAW.
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols.
• Measure, cut and prepare materials.
• Assemble mechanical components and fabricated parts to spec.
• Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and tacking.
• Conduct leak tests on pressure equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
• Follow safety procedures and keep workspace clean.
• Work independently or in a team to meet deadlines.
• Wear safety clothing and PPE.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fabrication Welder - Stainless Steel will be responsible for joining metal using a variety of techniques, often to form new structures. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical plans created by other construction professionals. The Fabrication Welder is a safety sensitive position that works primarily on new equipment assembly.

This is an hourly position that reports directly to the Area Shop Foreman.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Perform stainless steel welding using GMAW and GTAW processes
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols to fabricate components accurately
• Measure, cut and prepare materials (bend, cut, drill, tap, etc)
• Assemble mechanical components and fabricated parts to meet design specifications
• Perform proper fit-up alignment, and tacking prior to final welding
• Conduct leak test on pressure equipment, tanks or vessels
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently including overhead cranes and forklifts
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines
• Wearing safety clothing and using protective equipment
