Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Mid South is seeking a Welder Apprentice II to assist in fabricating and welding piping systems and structural components while developing foundational welding skills. You will work under experienced welders and supervisors to progress in welding quality and safety standards.

The role emphasizes learning welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW), following drawings, and maintaining a safe, organized work area in a team environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years welding or related trade experience.
• Basic understanding of welding techniques and equipment.
• Ability to read basic drawings and welding symbols.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), or GMAW processes.
• Prepare materials for welding including cutting, grinding, and fitting components.
• Read and interpret basic drawings and welding symbols.
• Support fabrication and installation of piping systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
