Comfort Systems USA Mid South is seeking a Welder Apprentice II to assist in welding piping systems and structural components, under supervision, while developing foundational welding skills.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork as you progress from basic tasks toward more complex welds under experienced guidance.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years welding or related trade experience.
• Basic understanding of welding techniques and equipment.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Willingness to learn and develop welding skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), or GMAW processes.
• Prepare materials for welding including cutting, grinding, and fitting components.
• Read and interpret basic drawings and welding symbols.
• Support fabrication and installation of piping systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with journeymen, apprentices, and supervisors.

Position Summary

The Welder Apprentice II assists in the fabrication and welding of piping systems and structural components while developing foundational welding skills. This role works under the guidance of experienced welders and supervisors and is expected to demonstrate skill progression and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), or GMAW processes
• Prepare materials for welding including cutting, grinding, and fitting components

• Support fabrication and installation of piping systems
