Job summary

Fire Manufacturing Innovations is seeking a skilled Welder to join our nighttime production team. You will read blueprints, perform MIG and TIG welds, and ensure metals are joined with precision while maintaining equipment safety and cleanliness.

The ideal candidate has welding experience, can read drawings, and pays close attention to safety. Starting pay is $20.73/hour plus a $2.00/hour shift differential.

Qualifications

• Proven welding experience or schooling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of safety standards and proper PPE.
• Attention to detail and accurate workmanship.
• High School diploma/GED preferred; certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read simple blueprints and drawings.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and other weld types as needed.
• Maintain equipment in safe working order.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces for defects.
• Follow specifications for maximum efficiency.
• Align components using calipers and rulers, and clamp pieces.
• Report damages to machines and equipment.
• Support other departments as needed.

Job purpose

As our Welder, you will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites. You will be working with the latest technology and equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision.

• Read simple blueprints and drawings
• Perform MIG, TIG, and other types of welds based on project needs
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Test and inspect welded surfaces to detect flaws
• Always follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency
• Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Report on damages to machines and equipment
• Support business needs in current position and other departments as needed

• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)
• Attention to detail, time management skills, and a positive attitude
• High School diploma/GED preferred
• Professional certification is a plus

Working conditions

Welders wear protective clothing and goggles for safety. Welders may workin a confined area designed to contain sparks and glare. They occasionally must lift heavy objects and work in awkward positions. Most work full time and overtime is common.

Physical requirements

Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.

Must be able to work in awkward positions to weld or do minor electrical work.

Additional Info

• Pay - Starting at $20.73/hour + $2.00/hour Shift Differential
• Schedule - 9:30pm - 6:00am Sunday - Thursday onsite
