Job summary

Southern Specialties in Tulsa is hiring skilled Welders who take pride in precision and craftsmanship. You will set up and weld sheet metal components using MIG as the primary method, with TIG experience a plus, in a climate-controlled shop.

The role offers a 3rd shift (Fri–Sun, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM) with an 11.5% shift premium, a stable schedule, and opportunities to advance in robotic and laser welding as skills grow.

Qualifications

• Proven MIG welding experience on carbon steel.
• TIG experience on stainless steel and aluminum is a plus.
• Fitter/Welder experience is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up and weld sheet metal components using MIG as the primary method.
• Read and interpret blueprints to meet precise specifications.
• Secure parts using fixtures, jigs, and holding tables.
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) and troubleshoot weld issues.
• Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanneal, and exotic metals.

Available Shifts

• Set up and weld components for sheet metal products using MIG (primary) and TIG (as needed); opportunities to learn robotic welding and laser welding
• Secure parts using fixtures, jigs, and holding tables
• Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanneal, and exotic metals
• Read and interpret blueprints to meet precise specifications
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Troubleshoot weld issues and maintain high-quality standards

Minimum Requirements For Consideration

• Proven MIG welding experience on carbon steel (required)
• TIG experience (stainless steel & aluminum) is a plus
• Fitter/Welder experience is a plus
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills and effective communication

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, squat, and climb for most of the shift
• Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs (with lifting devices when possible)
• Work in tight or confined spaces as needed
