Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Richmond, VA is seeking a Welder I – Spot Weld to join our manufacturing team. This role welds shelves to join steel parts for use in the assembly process and supports our glass doors and merchandising solutions.

You will operate resistance, MIG and TIG welders, read work orders and blueprints, perform preventative maintenance, and communicate status to supervisors. Physical work includes lifting up to 50 lbs in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating spot weld equipment.
• Ability to read work orders and blueprints.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs.
• Buffing experience preferred.
• Manufacturing welding experience is a plus.

Job Title: Welder I – Spot Weld

Location: Richmond, VA

What We Are Looking For

This position is responsible for spot welding shelves to join steel parts for use in the assembly process.

Essential Competencies

• Operate resistance welder, robotic welder, MIG and/or TIG welding.
• Basic understanding of spot welding, computer programs for setup of machine and tips used to spot weld.
• Identify proper tools for spot welding fixtures on shelves. (Stainless to GU)
• Ability to read and comprehend all work orders and blueprints.
• Perform preventative maintenance on spot weld machines.
• Ability to communicate status of assigned projects to supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Quantifiable Competencies

• Previous Buffing experience required.
• Must be able to operate power tools and perform tasks that require fine motor skills (ex: threading nuts onto bolts, starting a screw, etc.)

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements

• May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling.
• Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs)
• Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
