Job summary

Express Columbus Metro West in Columbus, OH is seeking a full-time welder to lay out, fit and weld materials using production orders, blueprints and customer specs. You will maintain records, monitor equipment, manage stock, and assist other departments to fulfill orders.

Required experience includes MIG, flux core and submerged arc welding, blueprint reading, and forklift/overhead crane operation. The role operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with overtime offered for Friday work.

Qualifications

• MIG, flux core and submerged arc welding experience.
• Cutting torches, grinders, sanders and cutting wheels proficiency.
• Reading blueprints and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fit and weld materials using production orders, blueprints and specs.
• Maintain records such as production orders and data collection.
• Maintain welding equipment and stock control, assist other departments.
• Perform daily activities safely and participate in 5S and Learn initiatives.
• Safely operate fork trucks and cranes and ensure weld quality.

• Layout, fit and weld materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blueprints and other documents related to the Engineering/Customer specification.
• Maintain accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance sheets.
• Maintenance all welding equipment used in the department.
• Maintain stock control, pull items for orders, work in other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer orders.
• Perform daily activities safely and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Actively participate in facility 5S and Learn initiatives.
• Safely operate fork trucks and cranes.
• Maintain quality throughout the weld process.

Recommended Aptitudes:

• Layout, fit and weld materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blueprints and other documents related to the Engineering/Customer specification.
