Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc is seeking Welder I & Welder II on 2nd shift (Tue–Fri, 5:00 PM–3:00 AM). Welders will perform MIG, aluminum and TIG welding, including robotic welding, to fabricate parts for assembly across product lines.

Under supervision, you will ensure safety, interpret drawings, and operate equipment. Training may be provided to new or transitioning team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or certification required.
  • Basic welding experience or training.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings/blueprints.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, aluminum welding and robotic welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, aluminum, TIG, electric or robotic welding to fabricate parts.
  • Follow safety rules and operate welding equipment safely.
  • Work across product lines to support assembly needs.
  • Interpret drawings/blueprints to complete welding tasks.
  • Train new employees or those learning new areas.

Components may be standardized or customized as to design and function.ResponsibilitiesComply with the company/site safety rules.Perform safe and effective operation of all equipment needed to perform job function.Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.Follow established procedures, processes, or policies.Interpret and understand engineering drawings and blueprints to accurately execute welding tasks.Assist with robotic welder.Additional duties as assigned.RequirementsHigh school diploma or Certification.Internal written and physical weld test.An understanding of welding fundamentals.Basic welding experience and/or training.Basic knowledge of Mig Welding Equipment.Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
