Ziegler CAT in Buhl, MN is seeking a full-time welder to repair and fabricate heavy construction and mining equipment. Hours are M-F, 3:00PM–11:30PM, with a comprehensive benefits package and room for growth.

The ideal candidate has welding experience, reads blueprints, and can operate multiple welding processes and fabrication tools. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and ongoing training within a supportive shop environment.

Qualifications

• Two-year welding tech program or equivalent.
• High school diploma with welding experience acceptable.
• Ability to read dimensional blueprints and measure accurately.
• Safe work practices and team collaboration required.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication on heavy equipment.
• Maintain equipment and tool settings, grease, oil, and adjust as needed.
• Document work orders accurately and timely.
• Work safely following company policies and standards.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication
• Maintain equipment such as dressing welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and other adjustments as necessary
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree/certificate in welding or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable welding experience
• Able to operate spot welder, arc welder, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sander, hand-tools, bandsaw, drills, temporary fixturing devices, and other metal-fabrication equipment
• Able to read dimensional blueprints
• Experience with gauging and measuring preferred
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre‑employment drug test

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Able to wear positive air flow mask while working.
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.
• Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
