  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting amperage and voltage settings.
  • Learn to strike arcs and guide welding tools to create proper welds.

  • Repair cracks, holes, and damaged components as needed.
  • Support assembly by positioning, clamping, and tacking parts together.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow safety procedures, work instructions, and welding standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Welder Apprentice (1st Shift) supports production operations by learning to weld metal components using MIG and TIG welding equipment. This role assists with preparing materials, operating welding tools, and inspecting completed work while following established safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 150 lbs
  • Ability to use hands for handling tools and materials
  • Visual ability to inspect weld quality and details
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, welding fumes, and airborne particles
  • Frequent exposure to noise, vibration, and industrial conditions
  • Occasional exposure to electrical hazards and chemicals
  • PPE required in all production areas
