Job summary

Miller Industries in Tennessee is seeking skilled welders to join the world’s largest manufacturer of towing and recovery equipment. You will assemble parts in jigs, inspect welds, and lay out work as you build sturdy, high‑quality components.

The role emphasizes MIG welding, reading AWS blueprints, and physical stamina to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work a 4-on 4-off schedule with daytime shifts. Miller offers competitive benefits and development programs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures and weld as per layout marks.
• Inspect welds for bead size and specs.
• Repair broken or cracked metal, build up parts.
• Lay out and tack welds on workpieces.
• Scar or groove welds before applying filler metal.
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
• Clean or degrease parts.
• Read AWS blueprints.
• Perform physical tasks: climb ladders, bend, lift up to 50 lbs.

Summary

• Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes, and builds up metal parts.
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds workpieces.
• Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
• Cleans or degreases parts.
• Ability to MIG weld.
• Ability to read AWS blue prints.
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the job including climbing step ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to work a schedule of four days on, then four days off.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Requires standing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to wear required PPE including PAPR’s
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
