Job summary

Morgan Truck Body in Orrville, OH is seeking a Welder for 1st shift to join our welding team and help build the backbone of our truck bodies. You will fuse aluminum, steel, and galvanneal components with precision to ensure trucks are tough and road-ready.

Ideal candidates bring a weld test pass, 6 months welding experience or training, and strong measurement, blueprint reading, and safety skills. Growth opportunities exist as many leaders start on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass a weld test to demonstrate skill and quality.
• Proficient in welding mild steel and galvanneal materials.
• Minimum of 6 months welding experience or completion of welding school training.
• Solid grasp of basic math, tape measurement, and computer skills essential for precision.
• Basic experience with hand tools to support welding tasks.
• Able to accurately understand and apply measurements on the job.
• Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints for specialized welding applications.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Blueprint interpretation: read and interpret blueprints to weld metals with pinpoint precision.
• Heavy equipment operation: operate saws and other equipment to prepare materials.
• Machine setup & maintenance: set up machines and perform preventative maintenance.
• Quality inspection: inspect each weld to meet top-tier standards.
• Welding techniques & certifications: learn and apply multiple welding methods; earn certifications.
• Safety & quality compliance: perform safety checks and uphold quality standards.
• Safety policy adherence: follow and promote all safety policies to protect the team.
