Job summary

Forma-Fab Metals is seeking a skilled welder to weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and our workmanship standards. You will perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, and analyze blueprints to plan layout and welding operations.

You will set up, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment, layout and secure parts, and input data into the ERP system (Global). The position requires the ability to read blueprints and weld in all positions with good

Qualifications

• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Ability to read tape measures and use calipers.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate parts per specifications using MIG and TIG.
• Analyze blueprints, drawings, specs, work orders, and MSDS to plan operations.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust welding equipment.
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.
• Input and maintain data in ERP system (Global).

Job description

Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, overtime as needed

Position Summary:

To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment
• Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global

Requirements:

• Maintain excellent attendance and possess the flexibility to work overtime
• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience
• Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and tooling
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols
• Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
• Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
• Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, square, and use a variety of power tools
• Work independently and follow directionBasic computer skills

A welding test will be administered as part of the application process
